In March 2015 The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) introduced a new process, whereby, if clients have a myGov account and have "linked" it to the ATO the client will receive ATO notifications into their myGov account and we, Macro, will no longer receive these notifications directly.

If you have linked to the ATO via myGov, we are supposed to have access to the correspondence sent to your myGov accounts, however we cannot guarantee that we will receive everything sent via myGov in a timely manner.

We think that, whilst this is a good initiative by the ATO to try and correspond with the taxpayer (you) in a timelier manner, we understand that everyone may not want to receive tax correspondence directly.

To "unlink" your myGov account from the ATO:

1.       Log in to your myGov account (if you have forgotten your password please call 132 307)

2.       Go to Services page   indicated by this large green link icon

3.       Select the "unlink" icon, indicated by this red unlinked icon  next to the ATO service

4.       Choose the service you want "unlinked", namely the ATO

Alternatively, if you would like to receive ATO correspondence via myGov, please "link" the ATO by:

1.       Log in to your myGov account (if you have forgotten your password please call 132 307)

2.       Go to Services page   indicated by this large green link icon

3.       Select the "link" icon, indicated by this green linked icon  next the service you want linked, namely the ATO

4.       On the "Getting started" page you will be asked about existing accounts and services, you will need to select the appropriate options.

If you have any queries regarding your myGov account you will need to contact myGov directly by calling 132 307, however if you have any queries regarding this email please contact the Macro Group office.

Kind Regards,
